Deric Hill, President & CEO
For more than 31 years, Deric Hill's career has centered around Holman's of Nevada, which he opened in Las Vegas in 1977. Under Hill's leadership, Holman's has grown into a well-respected company offering six divisions encompassing custom computer hardware and supplies, CAD services and training, network support, business technology solutions and more.
Starting his career as a part-time employee working the map counter at the Albuquerque-based Holman's, Inc., Hill advanced through the ranks until he was provided with the opportunity to open a branch of Holman's in Las Vegas. The Nevada-based store opened in 1977, and 12 years later Hill purchased Holman's of Nevada with two partners, Stuart Martin and Dave Meteyer.
Since acquiring Holman's of Nevada in 1989, Hill has strived to be a fair owner and provide an atmosphere where more than 40 employees enjoy working and providing value to the company's clients. Integrating computers and CAD software into the company's offerings, Holman's grew from a clientele based largely in the architecture, engineering and construction industries to serve companies in industries across the board.
Hill has served on the board or been a member of numerous organizations including the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau, the Nevada Development Authority, the Southern Nevada Association of Land Surveyors and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada.
Stuart Martin, VP Consulting Services
Since November 1977, Martin has been involved with every aspect of Holman’s of Nevada’s business operations. Earning an Architectural Drafting and Land Surveying associates degree before moving to Nevada, Martin immediately became involved with the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors and the Nevada Professional Engineers. Beginning in 1980, he assumed primary responsibility for selling, servicing and training personal computing systems for engineering, architecture, land surveying and drafting – the foundation of what have become Holman’s CAD Services and Computer Technical Services divisions. Over the years, Martin has been constantly involved with all aspects of Holman’s products and services and now formulates vendor and customer strategies to ensure Holman’s technology solutions are sustainable and repeatable.
Dave Meteyer, VP Sales & Marketing
As vice president of sales and marketing at Holman's of Nevada, Dave Meteyer oversees sales management, human resources and marketing management activities for the Las Vegas-based technology company.
Since joining the Holman's team in 1984, Meteyer has worked in many roles from his start as a sales representative. A native of Washington, D.C., Meteyer earned his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the team at Holman's, he worked in a variety of positions, including operations, human resources and accounting.
A Las Vegan since 1979, Meteyer has served on the Business Advisory Committee for Desert Pines High School, where he was honored for his contributions and scholarship funding efforts.
Joe Schmidt, VP CAD Services Division
Since joining Holman's of Nevada, a Las Vegas-based technology company, in 1999, Joe Schmidt has become vital to the company's success. Often playing multiple roles at once, Schmidt traveled rapidly upward within the company – serving in sales support, as a training instructor and manager and more – until settling into his current position as vice president of CAD Services, where he manages the Autodesk partnership including providing authorizations, technical competencies and marketing. He also serves as a mentor for the technical staff in order to assist them in quality services for Holman's clients.
Under Schmidt's leadership, Holman's of Nevada achieved Collaborative Project Management (CPM) Premier Solutions Provider status – allowing Holman's to become a top CPM value-added reseller and the only reseller in the nation certified to provide consulting and training services in collaborative project management. During his eight years of service to Holman's, he has amassed thousands of hours teaching, mentoring and supporting some of Nevada's largest architects, engineers and contractors, including JMA, Harris Consulting Engineers and Marnell Carrao.
A Las Vegas native, Schmidt earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from UNLV. Through Holman's, Schmidt travels across the country for Autodesk implementing, training and consulting on Buzzsaw, a collaborative management software used by large homebuilders and gaming companies and has worked directly with companies such as Pardee Homes, MGM Mirage, Wynn Las Vegas and John Laing Homes. He also worked for two years at the Las Vegas Valley Water District.
In addition, Schmidt is a public speaker, serving as keynote speaker for Las Vegas Autodesk and was also a guest speaker at the Autodesk One Team Conference in March.
