Nevada Statewide Utility for Geospatial Measurement
Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS RTK)
Nevada SpiderNet – Statewide grid of strategically placed and monitored GPS (CORS) base station receivers. An “always on,” permanent GPS base station network, facilitating consistent, cm accuracy measurements required for maintaining and building Nevada infrastructure.
SpiderNet is a consortium of Nevada stakeholders, economically and functionally sharing access and expenses, to support this GNSS RTK base station utility. Overall, GPS budgets for member stakeholders will be reduced, eliminating unnecessary and/or redundant GPS base stations scenarios. Participating users need only budget for/invest in GNSS RTK rovers; improving efficiency and reducing expense. A Nevada SpiderNet eliminates the need for land surveyors and/or construction crews to setup and “keep watch of” temporary GPS base stations.
